The story so far
Every finished song here started exactly like this: a melody with no words, caught before it evaporated. This one arrived in a grocery parking lot, engine running, and got hummed into the phone in one take with a truck idling next to me.
There is no lyric, no chord, no tempo — and deliberately no attempt yet. Seeds get thirty days in the drawer before anyone is allowed to “work” on them. The good ones ferment. The rest were just weather.
Current status: day twelve. It has survived every playlist cull so far, which puts it ahead of ninety percent of its siblings. The humming has words hovering near it — something about headlights, something about waiting up. Or down. We'll see.
“I keep humming this and I don't know what it wants to be yet.”

What it could become
No decision until day thirty. The drawer is doing the work now.

Unedited. Unenhanced. The truck is practically a co-writer at this point.
The thirty-day rule
New seeds rest untouched for thirty days. If you're still humming it on day thirty, it gets a guitar. If not, it gets thanked and released.
Day twelve of thirty. Verdict pending.
